Compliance and quality assurance in conjunction
Organizations that work with artificial intelligence are increasingly faced with the challenge of mastering ethical, technical and governance aspects integrally. In this context, EN 18286 and ISO/IEC 42001 offer complementary frameworks that can be easily integrated with each other. A well-thought-out integration not only increases compliance, but also the quality, reliability, and social acceptance of AI applications.
The emergence of the EU AI Act requires organizations to not only comply with the law, but also to demonstrate control over the quality and social impact of AI systems. In this context, EN 18286 and ISO/IEC 42001 are two clearly distinguishable but complementary standards. Where EN 18286 is primarily focused on compliance with the AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001 provides a broader management framework that focuses on transparency, effectiveness, and preventing bias in AI applications.
